Building Beyond Code: Exploring High Performance Residential Wall Assemblies

2:00pm - 3:30pm

Workshop Session C

As the new tiered building code moves toward higher performance, what wall assemblies should be used? The good news is there are many wall assembly options available. In this workshop led by the Emissions-Neutral Buildings Information Exchange (ENBIX), an initiative of Alberta Ecotrust, participants will learn what the tiered building codes mean for their building practices. The presenters will take a deep dive into different ways to build high performance walls that achieve higher tiers of code and result in homes with increased comfort, health, and durability.

This workshop is designed for builders and trades, and will also interest energy consultants, designers, engineers, and anyone working in the residential building, construction, and renovation industry in Alberta.

ENBIX is an industry-led collaborative initiative that brings industry together to accelerate the transition to an emissions-neutral built environment for new and existing buildings across Alberta. ENBIX is an initiative of Alberta Ecotrust.

The Biosphere Institute of the Bow Valley will also provide an update on their industry engagement and seek feedback on how to best serve the local building community during this workshop.
